With a little luck, Colombia's Pedro Manzanares got control of the ball when Ascencio Quintas tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Ascencio Quintas took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Pedro Manzanares to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ascencio Quintas in the 18th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Vetusta's Jose-Manuel Jauregui got a free kick in the 19th minute. Pedro Manzanares came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Vetusta's Ascencio Quintas. But to his dismay, Ascencio Quintas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. 24 minutes into the match, Vetusta's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Montenegro came free, but Ray De Lauw reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ray De Lauw showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santino Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 27th minute Santino Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ray De Lauw saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jose-Manuel Jauregui in the 29th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Orlando Tafalla hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. The long shot by Hanot Perdices in the 31st minute really tested Pedro Manzanares's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jose-Manuel Jauregui in the 33rd minute of the match. When Nicolás Rua fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vetusta's protests and gave Nicolás Rua a yellow card for diving instead. After 47 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Vetusta! The referee gave Colombia a penalty, 49 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Axel Montenegro, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Vetusta's Ray De Lauw. 3-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ascencio Quintas was the one to do the kick off. Nicolás Rua kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, Vetusta's Ascencio Quintas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Manzanares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ray De Lauw made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Axel Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. After 71 minutes of play, Vetusta's Ascencio Quintas made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedro Manzanares was left in no man's land by his defense there! Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. Ray De Lauw was out of position in the 76 minute of play, and Abram Secada capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Abram Secada really showed his touch with that goal: 4-2. Pedro Manzanares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
