Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emilio Bazkoare breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Korneliusz Basinski kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Emilio Bazkoare showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 15th minute of the match. In the 18th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. The corner led to Regresado's Miguel Herensuge getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cornelio Henric in the 23rd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
