Rolando Noboa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Peru's Rolando Noboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Peru from getting a goal against them. Onur-Recep Kıvrak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 21st minute. The corner led Peru's Julian Murillo to fire away a dangerous shot which Onur-Recep Kıvrak despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Ahmet Hamdi Baran fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kᴇᴛᴇɴçᴀʏɪʀ's protests and gave Ahmet Hamdi Baran a yellow card for diving instead. If Milagros Fraga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kᴇᴛᴇɴçᴀʏɪʀ's Onur-Recep Kıvrak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 26th minute of play. In the 28th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Onur-Recep Kıvrak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benedykt Lanczak could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. Milagros Fraga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Onur-Recep Kıvrak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Onur-Recep Kıvrak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 35th minute of play. In the 35th minute, Julian Murillo made a precise shot to the right of Onur-Recep Kıvrak. Kᴇᴛᴇɴçᴀʏɪʀ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Alonso Berganza kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. If Benedykt Lanczak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Benedykt Lanczak was the one to do the kick off. Kᴇᴛᴇɴçᴀʏɪʀ's attentive Ferdi Eriş managed to snatch the ball when Alonso Berganza made a throw-in in the 56th minute of the game. Behzat Tanyeli hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Kᴇᴛᴇɴçᴀʏɪʀ's Deng Jie Wei was substituted for Benedykt Lanczak. Deng Jie Wei struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Rolando Noboa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kᴇᴛᴇɴçᴀʏɪʀ. A collision led to Kᴇᴛᴇɴçᴀʏɪʀ getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Ahmet Hamdi Baran hit a great ball. 77 minutes into the match, Peru's Luz Tejedor sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Onur-Recep Kıvrak narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Milagros Fraga got free with Onur-Recep Kıvrak in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Kᴇᴛᴇɴçᴀʏɪʀ's Onur-Recep Kıvrak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Gallo in the 87th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Deng Jie Wei's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rolando Noboa was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. The Peru supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Peru would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
