David Elodio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thiago Pliego read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. were awarded a corner in the 5th minute after Chile's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Chen Zhen took the corner. After 6 minutes, Eustaquio Brufau made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Chile's Thiago Pliego tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Andriy Lunin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 11th minute of play forced SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s goalkeeper Andriy Lunin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andriy Lunin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 13th minute of the match. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andriy Lunin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 19 minutes into the match, David Elodio dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Thiago Pliego, 2-0. The throw-in from Steffen Michalsky in the 22nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Chile's Felix Garrido. Felix Garrido's late challenge caught a SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felix Garrido helped the player get up and apologised. After 24 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Felix Garrido. With a little luck, Chile's Thiago Pliego got control of the ball when David Elodio tried to sneak it across the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andriy Lunin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Chile were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mariano Lacasa took the corner. Chile's Pedro Indiano was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Andriy Lunin in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 30th minute, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s David Elodio dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 32nd minute of play forced SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s goalkeeper Andriy Lunin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Niculae Ungureanu was substituted for Steffen Michalsky. A collision led to Chile getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Felix Garrido hit a great ball. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Elodio in the 40th minute of play. Andriy Lunin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guillermo Fontirroig in the 44th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Orlando Casaus to make the kick off. If Orlando Casaus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 56 played minutes SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. got a freekick which was hit by Matthias Ginter. In the 64th minute, David Elodio made a precise shot to the right of Thiago Pliego. Chile's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. After a rather tough play, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Matthias Ginter got a free kick in the 68th minute. Bernardinho Alagoano charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bernardinho Alagoano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 70th minute, one of SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.. When the match had been going on for 73 minutes, Chile's Mariano Lacasa got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Andriy Lunin. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Chen Zhen in the 77th minute. After a rather tough play, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Hernan Melber got a free kick in the 79th minute. 82 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Niculae Ungureanu came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Niculae Ungureanu scored 5-1 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Thiago Pliego, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. David Elodio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Many of Chile's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Chile may have spent more time on the ball, but SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
