But to his dismay, Julian Murillo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Epifanio Leceta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Epifanio Leceta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Noboa having to make a save. Santiago Fuentes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 41st minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Epifanio Leceta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 45th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santiago Fuentes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alonso Berganza during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Peru's Alonso Berganza got a free kick in the 47th minute. The supporters of ℄ΣᏩモ₦ፚ ℱ.Ȼ booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alonso Berganza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Julian Murillo to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Xandro Oribe made in the 59th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Berdaitz Othaz immediately put the ball in play. Alonso Berganza hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. In the 63rd minute, Epifanio Leceta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Julian Murillo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 65thth minute tested the skills of Santiago Fuentes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Epifanio Leceta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Noboa having to make a save. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Epifanio Leceta in the 69th minute of the match. 75 minutes into the match, ℄ΣᏩモ₦ፚ ℱ.Ȼ's goalkeeper Santiago Fuentes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eliseo Mina. In the 78th minute, Efraim Gilabert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 79 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Efraim Gilabert. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xandro Oribe in the 80th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Santiago Fuentes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dionisio Quinito in the 91st minute of play. Dionisio Quinito recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. Rafael Gallo scored 0-2 in the 97th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Santiago Fuentes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Peru had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
