Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Santos Urbes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Sarandí Fútbol Club getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Bruno Lop hit a great ball. Rene Estevon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Pardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Xavier Zoido fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paraguay's protests and gave Xavier Zoido a yellow card for diving instead. In the 38th minute, Xavier Zoido hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th minute Santos Urbes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jaime Pardo to strike the kick off in the second half. Jaime Pardo struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Rene Estevon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paraguay. The audience was convinced that Primitivo Escribano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rene Estevon was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. Jaime Pardo struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Rene Estevon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paraguay. Santos Urbes in the 69thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jacobo Nores, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 75th minute, Americo Haitz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 77 minutes of play, Paraguay's Jaime Pardo made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rene Estevon was left in no man's land by his defense there! Albino Santo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jacobo Nores having to make a save. In the 91st minute of the match, Albino Santo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jacobo Nores saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 93rd minute, Albino Santo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 95th minute, one of Paraguay:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Paraguay. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Paraguay fully deserved thier win.
