Gao Fei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 19th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, Real Racing Club's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Gao Fei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd match minute, Real Racing Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnoldo Beti to maneuver through the defense. Gao Fei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Mexico were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With his leg Gao Fei managed to avoid a goal in the 55thth minute, when Mexico's Joel Gaona fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Silvio Amato hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. 67 minutes into the match, Real Racing Club's goalkeeper Gao Fei had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. After a defensive mix-up in Real Racing Club's zone, Joel Gaona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gao Fei came out of the goal and Joel Gaona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Kris Palmann came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Real Racing Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kris Palmann couldn't finish the play. Gao Fei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 86th minute, Joel Gaona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gao Fei made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Alberto Tafalla sent off a good shot on target. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Gao Fei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Su Yuan Yu in the 95th minute of play. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Facundo Cadaval hit a great ball.
