After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Axel Tasis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Axel Tasis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Patricio Salamon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 20th play minutes Feliks Nieruchliwy shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Benito Sanz and just under the crossbar into goal. Feliks Nieruchliwy might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Feliks Nieruchliwy ran back to his position shaking his head. 25 minutes into the game, Aaron Alcocer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Soflov FC the free kick. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Feliks Nieruchliwy, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. If Feliks Nieruchliwy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Feliks Nieruchliwy in the 39th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Abel Carballo got a free kick in the 39th minute. After 41 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Efrain Moruga. After the first half Soflov FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Eliseo Noboa made the kick off in the second half. Feliks Nieruchliwy's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 52ndth minute, Benito Sanz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Feliks Nieruchliwy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute, Feliks Nieruchliwy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 85 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Feliks Nieruchliwy. In the 87th minute, Percy Romero made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3.
