Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Emilio Argina took the kick off in the first half of the match. 3 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emilio Argina. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lars Voss's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lars Voss helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Hannover Reds's Lars Voss got a free kick in the 7th minute. Bernd Yuschni didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 10th minute of play forced Hannover Reds's goalkeeper Bernd Yuschni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernd Yuschni having to interfere. Julio Vera was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Emilio Argina showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 20 minute of play. In the 26th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Bernd Yuschni. Hannover Reds's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Bernd Yuschni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 31st minute of play. After having played for 32 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emilio Argina in the 41st minute. 41 minutes into the game, Emilio Argina recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julio Vera. Emilio Argina showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 55 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bernd Yuschni was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 60th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Bernd Yuschni was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 69 minutes into the game, Hannover Reds's Emilio Argina nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. In the 75th minute Emilio Argina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 75th minute, Emilio Argina ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-3. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hannover Reds's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-4. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 89th minute of the game. One of Ecuador:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Hannover Reds:s goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Willi Tilmann in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. The supporters of Hannover Reds booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 96th minute Emilio Argina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
