Agustín Rossi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 4th minute of the match. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. In the 13th minute, Oliver Petersson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dante Lacasa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After having played for 20 minutes, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Tafalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rebelution's Agustín Rossi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 22nd minute of play. If Oliver Petersson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The wind increased when Oliver Petersson made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Tafalla got free with Agustín Rossi in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 63 minutes had been played when some careless play by Rebelution's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Luca Zorita managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Agustín Rossi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luca Zorita in the 68th minute of play. Rebelution's Dario Guib was substituted for Luisito Tiniebra. Rebelution's Frank Teixeira was substituted for Chiquito Flores. Rebelution made a substitution. Americo Frascuelo replaced Rodolfo Indartsu. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 76th minute after Rebelution's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. In the 79th minute Frank Teixeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But to his dismay, Dario Guib quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Rebelution fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mexico had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
