With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Herensuge Villafranca tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sociedad Anónima's goalkeeper Matxin Uceda, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 16th minute, Sociedad Anónima's Josepe Camarero seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Josepe Camarero the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Sociedad Anónima protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Josepe Camarero had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 15th minute, one of Sociedad Anónima:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sociedad Anónima. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Julian Murillo sped through Sociedad Anónima's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Matxin Uceda. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herensuge Villafranca, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Joaquin Prats made a great header on Peru's corner, it was just that Sociedad Anónima's Matxin Uceda managed to reach the ball for a save. Joaquin Prats scored 0-3 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Matxin Uceda, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sociedad Anónima's Matxin Uceda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 35th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Julian Murillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Matxin Uceda was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Matxin Uceda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julian Murillo in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Matxin Uceda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Julian Murillo to strike the kick off in the second half. Matxin Uceda made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Murillo in the 54th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Peru's Julian Murillo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Matxin Uceda. That made the score 0-6 after 56 minutes of play. 59 minutes into the game, Peru's Julian Murillo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Matxin Uceda made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-7. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Murillo in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Matxin Uceda saved Sociedad Anónima from getting behind. Sociedad Anónima's Ubarna Huertas was substituted for Herensuge Villafranca. In the 77th minute of the match Peru got a corner. Sociedad Anónima's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. Moises Gayoso made a great header on Peru's corner, it was just that Sociedad Anónima's Matxin Uceda managed to reach the ball for a save. After some careless play in the Sociedad Anónima defense, Julian Murillo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Matxin Uceda. The Sociedad Anónima fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Matxin Uceda should have stopped the shot. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. In the 92nd match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquin Prats to maneuver through the defense. Matxin Uceda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Gallo, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The Sociedad Anónima fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Peru were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
