Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Zeca Fernandez started the match with the kick off. Raffael Quiroga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 2nd minute of play. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 3th minute after Rolândia Esporte Clube's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 10th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When Sidnei Meira fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rolândia Esporte Clube's protests and gave Sidnei Meira a yellow card for diving instead. 13 minutes into the game, one of Rolândia Esporte Clube:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Daniel Zorita walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After some careless play in the Rolândia Esporte Clube defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Raffael Quiroga. The Rolândia Esporte Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Raffael Quiroga should have stopped the shot. Rolândia Esporte Clube's Raffael Quiroga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 24th minute of play. In the 26th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raffael Quiroga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 27th minute of play forced Rolândia Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Raffael Quiroga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When André Sörman came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Rolândia Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Sörman couldn't finish the play. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Raffael Quiroga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, Camilo Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when André Sörman got free with Julio Vera in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 37 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Raffael Quiroga narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Rolândia Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Cleiton Braga hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Raffael Quiroga. Rolândia Esporte Clube's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 45 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Rolândia Esporte Clube made a substitution. Edmund Porter replaced André Sörman. In the 54th minute, Iñigo Sarrate got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 55th minute of play forced Rolândia Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Raffael Quiroga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Raffael Quiroga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Raffael Quiroga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 88th minute, Totte Spursø got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rasmus Björn during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 94th match minute, Rolândia Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rasmus Björn to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Raffael Quiroga made a huge save. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
