Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Murilo Prestes got the match started through his kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cléber da Costa got free with Dante Lacasa in the 2nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. SORRISO E. C.'s Caco Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 6th minute of play. After 8 played minutes SORRISO E. C. got a freekick which was hit by Edmílson da Rocha. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murilo Prestes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Murilo Prestes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th minute, Joel Gaona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 22nd minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caco Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Caco Azevedo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lautaro Mancebo's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. After 28 played minutes SORRISO E. C. got a freekick which was hit by Doni Velloso. After some careless play in the SORRISO E. C. defense, Joel Gaona kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Caco Azevedo. The SORRISO E. C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Caco Azevedo should have stopped the shot. 34 minutes into the game, Murilo Prestes lined in a short shot 1-1 behind a frustrated Dante Lacasa. Caco Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. In the 41st minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caco Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off. Lorenzo Cazalla kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Murilo Prestes in the 53rd minute of play. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Caco Azevedo made a huge save. Cléber da Costa struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Dante Lacasa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SORRISO E. C.. Alberto Tafalla took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Caco Azevedo. Caco Azevedo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Murilo Prestes in the 92nd minute of play. The supporters of Mexico booed when SORRISO E. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ryszard Iwanowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mexico eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
