Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vergil Rupov in the 2nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thiago Pliego saved Chile from getting behind. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jannes Van Leempoel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Orlando Casaus was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Alexander Klemensson came free with the goalkeeper in the 13th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Thiago Pliego could save by the left post. 14 minutes into the match, Genk's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Jannes Van Leempoel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 16 minutes into the game, Vergil Rupov lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated Thiago Pliego. Vergil Rupov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 21st minute, Mariano Lacasa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mariano Lacasa scored 2-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jannes Van Leempoel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 26th match minute, Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisco Carballar to maneuver through the defense. Jannes Van Leempoel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute of the match Chile got a corner. Genk's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mariano Lacasa ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Mariano Lacasa got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jannes Van Leempoel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. If Suat Kaya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 38 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Indiano. With his leg Thiago Pliego managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when Genk's Suat Kaya fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Alexander Klemensson might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thiago Pliego. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alexander Klemensson ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 45th minute Alexander Klemensson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jannes Van Leempoel came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Chile's Mariano Lacasa. But to his dismay, Mariano Lacasa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Genk's Thomas-Jan Van de Weijer was substituted for Tony Mampaerts. In the 53rd minute, Chile's Guillermo Fontirroig dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vergil Rupov in the 59th minute of the match. Genk's Jannes Van Leempoel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Genk from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Suat Kaya in the 64th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jannes Van Leempoel made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Mariano Lacasa sent off a good shot on target. Genk's Jannes Van Leempoel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando Casaus in the 68th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Chile's zone, Alexander Klemensson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal and Alexander Klemensson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jannes Van Leempoel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Guillermo Fontirroig in the 73rd minute. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. In the 78th minute, Rain De Hond left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Genk fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Jannes Van Leempoel made a huge save. Jannes Van Leempoel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 84th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mariano Lacasa in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jannes Van Leempoel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 89th minute of the match Chile got a corner. Genk's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mariano Lacasa ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Guillermo Fontirroig got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jannes Van Leempoel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Guillermo Fontirroig had several of the Genk's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 89 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-4 score and a disappointed Jannes Van Leempoel as he didn't even see the shot coming. With his leg Jannes Van Leempoel managed to avoid a goal in the 92ndth minute, when Chile's Mariano Lacasa fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 93 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Gerardo Pozo. The supporters of Genk booed when Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Indiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 邵泉林 in the 95th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Chile eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
