Lucas Barcelos scored 0-2 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lautaro Navarro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Edmundo Espiga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Feliberto Gonsalvo was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Valentín Carvallo got a free kick in the 28th minute. After having played for 32 minutes, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Espiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Sebastian Villa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Hurko in the 37th minute of play. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Valentín Carvallo hit a great ball. When Lucas Barcelos came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the C A U fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucas Barcelos couldn't finish the play. In the 43rdth minute of the game Edmundo Espiga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C A U's Feliberto Gonsalvo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lucas Barcelos scored 0-3 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lautaro Navarro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lucas Barcelos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as C A U's Lucas Barcelos slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lautaro Navarro. That made the score 0-4 after 60 minutes of play. C A U made a substitution. Conrado Ferrer replaced Leopoldo Senin. 65 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Lucas Barcelos came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Lucas Barcelos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lucas Barcelos got free with Lautaro Navarro in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 75th minute, Lucas Barcelos made a precise shot to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Lucas Barcelos managed to get in a good position for a shot. C A U's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucas Barcelos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lautaro Navarro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jorge Nahia received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Lautaro Navarro came out and tried to block the shot, but Jorge Nahia slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 85th minute. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Honduras from getting a goal against them. If Jorge Nahia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Nahia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jorge Nahia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. C A U had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
