In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Edmundo Espiga who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 12thth minute tested the skills of Feijo Zárate when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by Honduras's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Glauke Mihas was slow to take the kick. During this time HORTALEZA FC's players had a chance to rest. If Edmundo Espiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Emanuel Ocampo got a free kick in the 26th minute. Glauke Mihas took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 27th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, Roland Renoux had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roland Renoux was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glauke Mihas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edmundo Espiga kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Roland Renoux in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lautaro Navarro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luca Espinar kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. In the 48thth minute of the game Roland Renoux who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Honduras's Lautaro Navarro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Roland Renoux's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lautaro Navarro was relentless in the 48th minute of the game. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Roland Renoux stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Zhang Ang Zhen scored 0-2 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lautaro Navarro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Galsino Vilanova got free with Lautaro Navarro in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 56 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Galsino Vilanova came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sebastian Villa's late challenge caught a HORTALEZA FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The crowd rose to their feet as HORTALEZA FC's Zhang Ang Zhen slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lautaro Navarro. That made the score 0-4 after 85 minutes of play. HORTALEZA FC's Feijo Zárate played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 89th minute of play. Feijo Zárate stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmundo Espiga's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. The supporters of Honduras booed when HORTALEZA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Darroja didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd minute, Moises Tafalla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. HORTALEZA FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
