Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Noel Peixoto made the kick off which started today's match. The crowd rose to their feet as Armindo Silva kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Benito Sanz. That made the score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Axel Tasis hit a great ball. 7 minutes into the match, Alan Moruga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Durval Miranda. Sords Team's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alan Moruga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. 10 minutes into the game, Juan Rubio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sords Team the free kick. The supporters of Sords Team booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Rubio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. In the 13th minute, Alan Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alan Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. If Noel Peixoto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juan Rubio kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Noel Peixoto in the 20th minute. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durval Miranda having to interfere. In the 29th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Puig to maneuver through the defense. In the 30th minute, Noel Peixoto fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Noel Peixoto struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sords Team. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armindo Silva in the 34th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Eliseo Noboa notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Sords Team's Durval Miranda. Durval Miranda was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The nice shot from Noel Peixoto in the 41stth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Benito Sanz had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Benito Sanz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Armindo Silva showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 42 minute of play. Ricardo Salazar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eliseo Noboa to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Augusto Seixas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armindo Silva in the 55th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Sords Team's Noel Peixoto got a free kick in the 56th minute. If Armindo Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Durval Miranda was out of position in the 61 minute of play, and Eliseo Noboa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Eliseo Noboa really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armindo Silva in the 70th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 71 played minutes Sords Team got a freekick which was hit by Mauro Caldeira. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armindo Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Alan Moruga fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Alan Moruga a yellow card for diving instead. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Noel Peixoto in the 79th minute of play. When Lautaro Puig came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Costa Rica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lautaro Puig couldn't finish the play. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armindo Silva in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th minute Noel Peixoto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Sords Team getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Mauro Caldeira hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis got a free kick in the 88th minute. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Noel Peixoto in the 89th minute of play. Although Sords Team had been in control for most of the match, Costa Rica still came away with the win.
