Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. In the 6th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. La Armada Buscapina's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. Alejandro Papaggelatos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 15thth minute tested the skills of Dante Lacasa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Alejandro Papaggelatos's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 15thth minute, Dante Lacasa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The supporters of Mexico booed when La Armada Buscapina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alejandro Papaggelatos didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 22nd minute of play forced La Armada Buscapina's goalkeeper Chupan Moco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute, Macos Graciani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 26 minutes into the match, Denílson Ronaldinho notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Mexico's Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to La Armada Buscapina getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Marian Galaska hit a great ball. Chupan Moco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Mexico's Luca Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Denílson Ronaldinho in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dante Lacasa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alberto Tafalla blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Chupan Moco having to make a save. Chupan Moco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. If Denílson Ronaldinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denílson Ronaldinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alejandro Papaggelatos in the 66th minute of the match. After having played for 78 minutes, Alejandro Papaggelatos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Armada Buscapina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alejandro Papaggelatos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 79th minute, Macos Graciani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 80th minute Denílson Ronaldinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute, Esteban Cambiasso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dante Lacasa was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Mancebo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chupan Moco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luca Rouco hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The La Armada Buscapina support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
