Ernesto Poncio started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Yofré AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Venancio Cesario reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Julian Murillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Venancio Cesario was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. After 4 minutes, Julian Murillo made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Yofré AFC's Venancio Cesario tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The corner led Peru's Milagros Fraga to fire away a dangerous shot which Venancio Cesario despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 41st minute of the match Peru got a corner. Yofré AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. Peru's Eliseo Mina was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Venancio Cesario in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Peru's Anthony Alvarado managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Carlos Dolfo in the 45 minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Peru's Anthony Alvarado got a free kick in the 45th minute. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Mateo Messi sent off a good shot on target.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julian Murillo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Carlos Dolfo made a throw-in in the 52nd minute of the game. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Venancio Cesario read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mateo Messi in the 57th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mateo Messi, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 73rd match minute, Yofré AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonatan Regis to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute, Julian Murillo made a precise shot to the right of Venancio Cesario. Yofré AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
