Cristobal Estavan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from John Kellbom in the 22nd minute of the match. 25 minutes into the game, Tomás Lecanda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Newell´s's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave LeicestersKickers the free kick. The supporters of LeicestersKickers booed when Newell´s was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomás Lecanda didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute of the match, Clemente Montes got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cristobal Estavan was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tadeo Jakobe in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Janne Oblak prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Janne Oblak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amancio Bilintx in the 34th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tadeo Jakobe in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Janne Oblak prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 37 minutes into the match, LeicestersKickers's goal looked a bit too open when Amancio Bilintx came free, but Janne Oblak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Newell´s's Cristobal Estavan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kiki Monginsidi in the 38th minute of play. When Tadeo Jakobe came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Newell´s fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tadeo Jakobe couldn't finish the play. Amancio Bilintx took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Janne Oblak. Janne Oblak dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Clemente Montes kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Janne Oblak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amancio Bilintx, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half Newell´s were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kiki Monginsidi to strike the kick off in the second half. Faustino Maura kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. Amancio Bilintx succeeded in the game's 52nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. 55 minutes into the game, Isidoro Ramires was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. John Kellbom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristobal Estavan having to interfere. 75 minutes into the match, Kiki Monginsidi notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Newell´s's Cristobal Estavan. Cristobal Estavan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kiki Monginsidi in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristobal Estavan saved Newell´s from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rigoberto Paredes in the 80th minute of play forced Newell´s's goalkeeper Cristobal Estavan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Janne Oblak stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amancio Bilintx's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. Janne Oblak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tadeo Jakobe in the 85th minute of play. Sebastian Engman hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. When the final whistle sounded Newell´s left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than LeicestersKickers.
