Newell´s's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave JK Shefid the free kick. In the 26th match minute, Newell´s was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Faustino Maura to maneuver through the defense. Clemente Benat's late challenge caught a JK Shefid's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Clemente Benat helped the player get up and apologised. Cristobal Estavan made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Eldur Uustal sent off a good shot on target. Newell´s's Cristobal Estavan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Uku Maamägi in the 34th minute of play. After 36 minutes, Gabriel Murelik mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the JK Shefid and the Newell´s players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Newell´s booed when JK Shefid was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Murelik didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 41st minute, Tadeo Jakobe ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Keijo Haan was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 46 played minutes JK Shefid got a freekick which was hit by Kong Sang Xiang. With an all-out effort, JK Shefid's Cristobal Estavan threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Uku Maamägi, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Uku Maamägi made the kick off in the second half. Keijo Haan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Omar Cordara in the 54th minute of play. Newell´s's Cristobal Estavan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Uku Maamägi in the 57th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Newell´s's Omar Cordara got a free kick in the 59th minute. Tadeo Jakobe who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 61stth minute tested the skills of Keijo Haan when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The corner led Newell´s's Indiana Turban to fire away a dangerous shot which Keijo Haan despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Keijo Haan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Indiana Turban, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by 龙勇骏 in the 66th minute of play forced Newell´s's goalkeeper Cristobal Estavan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristobal Estavan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Uku Maamägi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Omar Cordara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Keijo Haan made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Uku Maamägi in the 73rd minute of play forced Newell´s's goalkeeper Cristobal Estavan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Newell´s's goal looked a bit too open when Eldur Uustal came free, but Cristobal Estavan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amancio Bilintx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Keijo Haan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eldur Uustal in the 85th minute of play forced Newell´s's goalkeeper Cristobal Estavan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Amancio Bilintx's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Keijo Haan was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eldur Uustal in the 89th minute of play forced Newell´s's goalkeeper Cristobal Estavan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
