Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 25th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Costa to maneuver through the defense. Christian Weets kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Angelo Grabiel succeeded in the game's 32nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. In the 42nd minute, Alejo Maties left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The River de Ramos Mejía fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. The River de Ramos Mejía fans' excitement grew in the 47th match minute when River de Ramos Mejía's Angelo Grabiel looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Angelo Grabiel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angelo Grabiel, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 61st minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eleuterio Maureo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd match minute, River de Ramos Mejía was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejo Maties to maneuver through the defense. In the 76th minute, Gabriel-Omar Batistuta made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 93 minutes into the match, Christian Weets had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Christian Weets was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Angelo Grabiel managed to get in a good position for a shot. River de Ramos Mejía's supporters rose to their feet, but Angelo Grabiel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
