Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 30th minute after Sagarana Clube's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Benedito Trigo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 33rd minute, Éder Madureira made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Benedito Trigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 35th minute of the match. But to his dismay, Felix Montenegro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Juan Sebastián Puig got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Ecuador were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Sagarana Clube for a fine match.
