Sebastián Torrico made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Julian Murillo sent off a good shot on target. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Dănilă, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julian Murillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Sebastián Torrico made a huge save. Sebastián Torrico showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Mina in the 32nd minute of the match. Eliseo Mina took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sebastián Torrico. Sebastián Torrico dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 36th minute of the match, Julian Murillo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Sebastián Torrico saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Peru were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after GreenUnited's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with Sebastián Torrico in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 45 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Joao Zuazo came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

GreenUnited made a substitution. Max Stevens replaced Yaman Akar. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julian Murillo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Joao Zuazo sent off a good shot on target. Sebastián Torrico showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 58th minute of the match. 59 minutes into the game, GreenUnited's Max Stevens nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rolando Noboa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. GreenUnited's Michalis Kourtis was substituted for Daniel Dănilă. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Max Farr in the 66th minute. After 67 played minutes GreenUnited got a freekick which was hit by Edward Chaniago. In the 73rdth minute of the game Julian Murillo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GreenUnited's Sebastián Torrico was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Romeu Alagoano made a throw-in in the 75th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 82nd minute of play forced GreenUnited's goalkeeper Sebastián Torrico to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. The supporters of Peru booed when GreenUnited was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frans Laine didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th minute Eliseo Mina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastián Torrico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 87 minutes into the match, Eliseo Mina notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of GreenUnited's Sebastián Torrico. Sebastián Torrico was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Max Stevens fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GreenUnited's protests and gave Max Stevens a yellow card for diving instead. In the 98th minute, GreenUnited's Michalis Kourtis dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-2. Peru's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
