The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Oğuzhan Tolun hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ilias Seichanidis having to interfere. The corner led to Ecuador's Agustín Saelices getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Agustín Saelices's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ilias Seichanidis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. In the 60th match minute, ΟΦΗ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Babbis Theodorakakos to maneuver through the defense. Ecuador were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing ΟΦΗ to leave the ground with a draw.
