Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 18 minutes into the game, Patricio Costa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Ahmad Reza Asadi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Santos Campineiro's Fabrício Baloy got a free kick in the 20th minute. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabrício Baloy hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. 31 minutes into the match, Santos Campineiro's Anibal Enekoitz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 36th minute, Onuralp Ergüden ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Santos Campineiro's Sidney Albuquerque was substituted for Anibal Enekoitz. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. In the 70th minute of the match Venezuela got a corner. Santos Campineiro's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomas Illescas ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Venezuela's corner Joshua Secada fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ahmad Reza Asadi quite easily take care of the ball. After 71 minutes, Joshua Secada made it 3-2 with a short kick to the right side. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 89 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jonathan Orlandus who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Santos Campineiro's Allan Dias to a score. 4-2 in the 89th minute. After 93 minutes of play, Santos Campineiro's Sidnei Baptista made it 5-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! Santos Campineiro's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
