The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serafim Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After 32 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Tafalla. The crowd rose to their feet as Éder Madureira kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dante Lacasa. That made the score 1-1 in the 37 minute of play. Benedito Trigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 41st minute, one of Mexico:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Mexico. Mexico:s Dante Lacasa showed great skill when he stopped Serafim Barros:s penalty. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lautaro Mancebo to strike the kick off in the second half. Benedito Trigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 51st minute of the match. Fábio da Cunha hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Luca Zorita got a free kick in the 53rd minute. With his leg Benedito Trigo managed to avoid a goal in the 56thth minute, when Mexico's Alberto Tafalla fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fábio da Cunha in the 57th minute of play. Éder Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out.
