Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erling Gustafsson in the 24th minute of play. Zhao Fei Ling sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zhao Fei Ling could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. In the 35th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Burkhardt Teubler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Burkhardt Teubler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Burkhardt Teubler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 43rd minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Erling Gustafsson made the kick off in the second half. In the 50th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustín Saelices to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erling Gustafsson in the 52nd minute of play. Biene Maja 09 were awarded a corner in the 53th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Zhao Fei Ling took the corner. After taking down the ball on Biene Maja 09's corner Zhao Fei Ling fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. Burkhardt Teubler made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Volker Hanisch hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Burkhardt Teubler read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. In the 75th minute Zhao Fei Ling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho in the 77thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Burkhardt Teubler, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 79th minute Zhao Fei Ling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Erling Gustafsson came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nils Hydén scored 1-0 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erling Gustafsson in the 95th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
