Francisco Seco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Gavino Belarmo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Dante Rafe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. In the 33rd minute, Valentin Negroni got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 44th minute, Valentin Negroni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Francisco Seco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gavino Belarmo having to make a save. In the 48th minute, Metapalo FC's Leif Broman seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Leif Broman the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Metapalo FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Leif Broman had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 47th minute of the game. One of Metapalo FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Uruguay:s goal. The Uruguay players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Metapalo FC were winning 1-2.

Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valentin Negroni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valentin Negroni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Joaquin Gayoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valentin Negroni, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. 67 minutes into the game, Valentin Negroni cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Joaquin Gayoso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Metapalo FC's Valentin Negroni got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Metapalo FC's Gavino Belarmo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 72nd minute of play. Valentin Negroni might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joaquin Gayoso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Valentin Negroni ran back to his position shaking his head. Gavino Belarmo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 78th minute of the match. The throw-in from Jorge Sainz in the 81st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Metapalo FC's Epifanio Marques. Joaquin Gayoso was a little too slow when Valentin Negroni got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 82nd minute. The score was now 1-4. In the 88th minute, Valentin Negroni got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 91 minutes, Valentin Negroni managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Metapalo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valentin Negroni was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jacinto Baumar struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Joaquin Gayoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Metapalo FC. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Kevin Carballal hit a great ball. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto Baumar in the 97th minute of play. When the match was over Metapalo FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Uruguay throughout the match.
