Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Elpidio Txomin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 4th minute of play. Elpidio Txomin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sander Korsma might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sander Korsma ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Sander Korsma tried to sneak it across the goal line. Elpidio Txomin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 10th minute of the match. Elpidio Txomin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristian Sancho's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. In the 14th minute of the match, Gualterio Faron tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Julio Vera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sander Korsma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sander Korsma's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. Elpidio Txomin came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 36 minutes, Sander Korsma made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Antonio Vespucio Liberti's goalkeeper Elpidio Txomin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The throw-in from Primitivo Andino in the 41st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Antonio Vespucio Liberti's Enrique Unai. Primitivo Andino got a throw-in 44 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Felix Montenegro. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 51st play minute Daniel Zorita came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Elpidio Txomin. 1-2. Sander Korsma's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. 56 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Sander Korsma came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sander Korsma in the 57th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elpidio Txomin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 74th minute Sander Korsma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With 76 minutes on the clock, Juan Sebastián Puig commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 76th minute, one of Ecuador:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ecuador. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Agustín Saelices took a quick shot and it went in 2-4 without a chance for Elpidio Txomin to make any attempt to save it. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Elpidio Txomin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
