Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodrigo Ramos having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Axel Tasis in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rodrigo Ramos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alexander Carballo kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tavio Rienda got free with Benito Sanz in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Costa Rica's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Medero Nadal 13 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adolfo Carro in the 15th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Medero Nadal in the 18th minute. Benito Sanz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Medero Nadal showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 22 minute of play. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tavio Rienda in the 30th minute. Adolfo Carro came free with the goalkeeper in the 32nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Goren Barba during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Goren Barba hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When Alexander Carballo fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Alexander Carballo a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 68 minutes, Lautaro Puig managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Costa Rica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lautaro Puig was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When VALPICA C.F.'s Tavio Rienda in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Cipriano Lastras hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. 87 minutes into the match, VALPICA C.F.'s goal looked a bit too open when Axel Tasis came free, but Rodrigo Ramos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tavio Rienda in the 95th minute of play.
