Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Gualterio Faron made the kick off which started today's match. 7 minutes into the game, Sander Korsma cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 12th minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Txomin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sander Korsma recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Juan Sebastián Puig during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ecuador fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 20th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Julio Vera, was totally fooled by Antonio Vespucio Liberti's Epifanio Demesio, who 21 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sander Korsma in the 28th minute. After having played for 30 minutes, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 31 minutes into the game, Sander Korsma recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julio Vera. Sander Korsma showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elpidio Txomin having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Rafael Quinten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sander Korsma's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Antonio Vespucio Liberti's goalkeeper Elpidio Txomin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felix Montenegro. Elpidio Txomin was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Felix Montenegro showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 52 minute of play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sander Korsma, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sander Korsma in the 59th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 64 minutes into the match, Antonio Vespucio Liberti's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Elpidio Txomin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 70th minute, one of Ecuador:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ecuador. Julio Vera had in the 72ndth minute some difficulties stopping Epifanio Demesio's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Epifanio Demesio did an outstanding performance 72 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 4-1 to the right of an irritated Julio Vera in the goal. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sander Korsma went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. When Gualterio Faron came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Antonio Vespucio Liberti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gualterio Faron couldn't finish the play. 89 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Elpidio Txomin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-2.
