The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Arturo Di Matteo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Evander Zabel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Comunardo Chizzo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Evander Zabel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th match minute, Ciudad Tao FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oliver Wennerqvist to maneuver through the defense. After 25 minutes Ciudad Tao FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fedele Alessandrini who took care of the corner kick. Calenzano's Fedele Alessandrini was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Evander Zabel in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some careless play in the Ciudad Tao FC defense, Arturo Di Matteo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Evander Zabel. The Ciudad Tao FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Evander Zabel should have stopped the shot. 39 minutes into the match, Joel Sandström dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Donato Balestra, 1-1. Thanks to some nice moves Joel Sandström could shoot a difficult shot in the 47th minute, which Donato Balestra however easily saved by the left post. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Ciudad Tao FC made a substitution. Salomon Quaade replaced Ernst Skog. Ciudad Tao FC's Miron Zabel was substituted for Jairo Malheiro. In the 58th minute of the match Ciudad Tao FC got a corner. Calenzano's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joakim Vennerlund ran over to the corner to take the kick. Donato Balestra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miron Zabel, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Calenzano's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joakim Vennerlund ran over to the corner to take the kick. Pierrot Leenpoels sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The Calenzano fans' excitement grew in the 82nd match minute when Calenzano's Pierrot Leenpoels looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Miron Zabel scored 3-4 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Donato Balestra, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Birol Dalayer made in the 95th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Calenzano's Alessandro Giocondo. Pierrot Leenpoels blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Evander Zabel having to make a save.

The Calenzano supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Calenzano would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
