Volkan Demirel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mateo Raymond, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Volkan Demirel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnaldo Sanduru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Recep Muhittin charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Recep Muhittin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Nevşehirspor booed when Barsa FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victoriano Feliz didn't get a good kick on the ball. İlhan Mansız recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 20 minutes, Paşa Candaner mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nevşehirspor and the Barsa FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 20th minute, Paşa Candaner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 26th minute, İlhan Mansız made a precise shot to the right of Remigio Favila. Barsa FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Remigio Favila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from İlhan Mansız in the 31st minute of play. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 2-1 when İlhan Mansız sped through Barsa FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Remigio Favila. After 40 minutes of play, Nevşehirspor's İlhan Mansız made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Remigio Favila was left in no man's land by his defense there! 43 minutes into the game, Arnaldo Sanduru cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Volkan Demirel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mateo Raymond stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes Nevşehirspor's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Arnaldo Guerrero who took care of the corner kick. 57 minutes into the match, Barsa FC's goal looked a bit too open when İlhan Mansız came free, but Remigio Favila reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by İlhan Mansız in the 59th minute of play forced Barsa FC's goalkeeper Remigio Favila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Isidoro Barto got free with Volkan Demirel in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ateş Samih recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Neither team could find the winning goal during normal time. The second half finished 3-3. Extra-time would have to be played.

The players didn't get much rest, but they still tried to pep each other up as they lined up for the first half in overtime. Nevşehirspor's Rıfkı Süvari started the play with his kick off. After 100 played minutes Barsa FC got a freekick which was hit by Arnaldo Sanduru. Barsa FC's Remigio Favila played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rıfkı Süvari in the 107th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 109th minute, Rıfkı Süvari managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nevşehirspor's supporters rose to their feet, but Rıfkı Süvari was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Remigio Favila breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Remigio Favila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rıfkı Süvari in the 112th minute of play. With the score at 3-3, the referee blew for the end of the half. The players got a few minutes to recover before they had to start the second half of extra-time.

Everyone could clearly see that both Barsa FC's and Nevşehirspor's players was becoming tired in their legs when Barsa FC's Mateo Raymond did the kick off in the second half of the overtime. A collision led to Nevşehirspor getting a freekick after 117 minutes play. İlhan Mansız hit a great ball. In the 118th minute, Arnaldo Guerrero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Bartolo Jerrold in the 125th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Nevşehirspor's Ahmet Ersal. With a little luck, Nevşehirspor's Volkan Demirel got control of the ball when Arnaldo Sanduru tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arnaldo Guerrero didn't get a good kick on the ball. 134 minutes into the match, Nevşehirspor's İrfan-Can Kahveci broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal.

The goalkeeper, Volkan Demirel, was totally fooled by Barsa FC's Florentino Chorache, who 138 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Arnaldo Guerrero succeeded in the game's 141st minute to get real power on a long shot . Nevşehirspor's Volkan Demirel hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 4-5! The goalkeeper, Volkan Demirel, was totally fooled by Barsa FC's Mateo Raymond, who 143 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When the match had been going on for 149 minutes, Barsa FC's Remigio Favila got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Volkan Demirel. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Barsa FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
