The supporters of Suikerklontjes booed when Gutenberg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Lawrence didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Gutenberg fans' excitement grew in the 20th match minute when Gutenberg's Prudencio Romo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Peruanton in the 23rd minute of play forced Suikerklontjes's goalkeeper Sammy Godts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Gutenberg defense, Yoachim Hauwaerts kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sebastian Rojelio. The Gutenberg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sebastian Rojelio should have stopped the shot. 40 minutes into the match, Suikerklontjes's goal looked a bit too open when Prudencio Romo came free, but Sammy Godts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd match minute, Suikerklontjes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herald Van de Goor to maneuver through the defense. Sammy Godts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Prudencio Romo in the 43rd minute of play. In the 45th minute Gutenberg were awarded a corner. Santo Dominguez went to the cornerflag to take it.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Yoachim Hauwaerts to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Yoachim Hauwaerts was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Suikerklontjes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gutenberg the free kick. Tiburcio Ovando took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 54th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sammy Godts. Suikerklontjes's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Teofilo George hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. After 69 played minutes Gutenberg got a freekick which was hit by Teofilo George. Bernardo Lawrence kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Sammy Godts didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Braulio Etxekopar went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. If Ryan Kempenaerts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 87 minutes into the match, Gutenberg's goal looked a bit too open when Bart Van de Velde came free, but Sebastian Rojelio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Suikerklontjes's Matias Gilis got a free kick in the 91st minute.

Although Suikerklontjes had been in control for most of the match, Gutenberg still came away with the win.
