Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laércio Penha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 9 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Emmanuel Reyes. In the 15th minute, Peru's Julian Murillo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mickaël Maris. Mickaël Maris yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Mickaël Maris proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Nova Iguaçu MZFC from getting a goal against them. Ovidio Marko kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Mickaël Maris made an important save on a dangerous shot by Milagros Fraga in the 35th minute. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 36th minute. A nice corner shot did that Alonso Berganza got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mickaël Maris quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 37th minute of the game Efraim Gilabert made a throw-in which Emmanuel Reyes played forward. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zézinho Veloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Efraim Gilabert hit a great ball. In the 47th minute, Anthony Alvarado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Laércio Penha to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute Laércio Penha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mickaël Maris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luz Tejedor, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Rafael Gallo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mickaël Maris breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Peru's Eliseo Mina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Heitor Ferreira, made in the 92nd minute of the game. After 96 played minutes Nova Iguaçu MZFC got a freekick which was hit by Edu Vaz. In the 98th minute, Alonso Berganza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Peru's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
