Matias Cordarrol was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lautaro Puig's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Matias Cordarrol firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Silvano Hondo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matias Cordarrol stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Axel Tasis's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvano Hondo in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 28th minute, Alexander Carballo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 36 minutes, Ulises Millrick managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MarDel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ulises Millrick was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Gonchan, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Juan Rubio got a free kick in the 54th minute. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Gonchan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Axel Tasis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 86 minutes, Juan Rubio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the MarDel players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of MarDel booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Rubio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marco Gonchan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
