Thodoris Patsatzis came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 14th minute Christodoulos Tsagris shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 14th minute, Christodoulos Tsagris made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 20th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniil Barlas in the 21st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Thodoris Patsatzis in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Konstantinos Katsouranis hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. 27 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Daniil Barlas came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 31 minutes into the game, Themis Tsopakis threw the ball into play from the sideline. Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 34 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Daniil Barlas came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of PAOK Irakliou booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Camilo Gaos got a free kick in the 43rd minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniil Barlas made a kick off. In the 50th minute, Daniil Barlas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thodoris Patsatzis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind PAOK Irakliou's goalkeeper Thodoris Patsatzis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Daniil Barlass short, quick shot in the 63rdth minute got Jonathan Ferrant to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 68 minutes into the match, PAOK Irakliou's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Thodoris Patsatzis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Thodoris Patsatzis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. In the 72nd minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in PAOK Irakliou's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thodoris Patsatzis came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Giorgos Raftopoulos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. After taking down the ball on PAOK Irakliou's corner Aris Stefanopoulos fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jonathan Ferrant quite easily take care of the ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sakis Skouras, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Sakis Skouras scored 0-3 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Thodoris Patsatzis having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in PAOK Irakliou's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thodoris Patsatzis came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the final whistle sounded PAOK Irakliou left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Venezuela.
