Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erivaldo Hermes having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Yan Penha came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant was out of position in the 12 minute of play, and Yan Penha capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Yan Penha really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Andrew Murillo might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andrew Murillo ran back to his position shaking his head. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by O MOTIVO ⚽'s Daniel Bertoni. But to his dismay, Daniel Bertoni quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 26th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erivaldo Hermes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Yan Penha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. If Andrew Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Yan Penha tried to sneak it across the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. Erivaldo Hermes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Erivaldo Hermes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Patricio Costa hit a great ball. Erivaldo Hermes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 66th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 67thth minute, Erivaldo Hermes skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The supporters of Venezuela booed when O MOTIVO ⚽ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yan Penha didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 70 played minutes O MOTIVO ⚽ got a freekick which was hit by Kazimierz Rosen. After 80 played minutes O MOTIVO ⚽ got a freekick which was hit by Cesinha Baptista. 83 minutes into the match, O MOTIVO ⚽'s goalkeeper Erivaldo Hermes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Erivaldo Hermes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. Erivaldo Hermes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 88th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. O MOTIVO ⚽ fully deserved thier win.
