After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a free kick in the 8th minute. If Cristiano Cigaran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Vítor Damas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Filomeno Esiquio kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristiano Cigaran in the 15th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vítor Damas saved Esquadrão Lusitano from getting behind. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdo Passos, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 31st minute Esquadrão Lusitano were awarded a corner. Tạ Bom went to the cornerflag to take it. 32 minutes into the game, Cândido Machado lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated Jonathan Ferrant. The crowd rose to their feet as Esquadrão Lusitano's Cristiano Cigaran slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 3-0 after 41 minutes of play. In the 45th minute of the match, Cristiano Cigaran got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jonathan Ferrant was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Camilo Gaos thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Jonathan Ferrant, a very annoying self made goal in the 46th minute which led to 4-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The wind increased when Cândido Machado made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Cristiano Cigaran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cândido Machado scored 5-0 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Valdo Passos came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Esquadrão Lusitano fans jumped to their feet. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tạ Bom ran over to the corner to take the kick. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Tomas Illescas hit a great ball. 91 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Santana came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Cigaran in the 92nd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 92 minutes into the game, Cristiano Cigaran cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Esquadrão Lusitano's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
