In the 5th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walmir Dias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felix Montes hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Ecuador's Agustín Saelices getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

50 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Walmir Dias. Cristian Sancho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Walmir Dias made a huge save. After 58 played minutes Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ® got a freekick which was hit by Rafa Coutinho. Felix Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Walmir Dias read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Walmir Dias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s Walmir Dias proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ® from getting a goal against them. In the 72nd minute of the game Primitivo Andino made a throw-in which Felix Montenegro played forward. With a little luck, Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s Walmir Dias got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Primitivo Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. 78 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Walmir Dias. Walmir Dias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 81st minute of the match. 83 minutes into the match, Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Walmir Dias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristian Sancho came free with the goalkeeper in the 84th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Walmir Dias could save by the left post. 86 minutes into the match, Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s goalkeeper Walmir Dias had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Walmir Dias didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s Walmir Dias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 91st minute of play. In the 94th minute, Rafa Coutinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Agustín Saelices hit a great ball. Ecuador played a much better game than Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ® and deserved their victory. The Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ® players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
