Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Daniel Zorita took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walmir Dias came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 9th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. After 11 minutes, Róbson Sergipano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ® and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ® was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Róbson Sergipano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Walmir Dias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s Walmir Dias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 20th minute of play. Walmir Dias didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 26 minutes into the match, Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Walmir Dias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walmir Dias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Walmir Dias didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Walmir Dias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 36th minute of play forced Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s goalkeeper Walmir Dias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Walmir Dias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 39th minute of play. Cristian Sancho kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. The wind increased when Rafa Coutinho made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 51 minutes, Leopoldo Capixaba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Leopoldo Capixaba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walmir Dias having to interfere. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Toninho da Cunha fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s protests and gave Toninho da Cunha a yellow card for diving instead. In the 60th minute, Toninho da Cunha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis Andino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walmir Dias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Felix Montenegro took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Walmir Dias to make any attempt to save it. Gernando dos Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. In the 73rd minute Rafa Coutinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Agustín Saelices fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walmir Dias having to interfere. Rafa Coutinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Róbson Sergipano hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. In the 80th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Walmir Dias acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 83rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Daniel Zorita. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 87 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 90th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montenegro to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s Leopoldo Capixaba. But to his dismay, Leopoldo Capixaba quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2.
