In the 17th minute, Jerold Grijalba ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Manzanares was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 20th match minute, Colombia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joshua Garrido to maneuver through the defense. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerold Grijalba, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 23rd minute of the match Austral FC got a corner. Colombia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nisio Iturmendi ran over to the corner to take the kick. 29 minutes into the game, Felipe Benito threw the ball into play from the sideline. Colombia's Kevin Mastache quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Jerold Grijalba might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Manzanares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jerold Grijalba ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerold Grijalba in the 31st minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damaso Hurko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Montenegro in the 34th minute of the match. Nisio Iturmendi made in the 37th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Goizeder Infante however managed to control. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerold Grijalba in the 37th minute of play. Damaso Hurko didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Axel Montenegro went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abram Sarmiento was the one to do the kick off. Damaso Hurko didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Axel Montenegro went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. A collision led to Colombia getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Antonio Indiano hit a great ball. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Menendo Tella in the 65th minute of the match. In the 67th minute, Colombia's Axel Montenegro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Damaso Hurko. Damaso Hurko yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-4. Colombia made a substitution. Ignacio Mastache replaced Abram Sarmiento. In the 72nd minute, Abram Secada left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Colombia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-5. In the 75th minute, Abram Secada ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Damaso Hurko was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-6. Damaso Hurko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ignacio Mastache in the 78th minute of the match. After 80 minutes Austral FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kevin Mastache who took care of the corner kick. The Austral FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Colombia's performance. The match ended with a win for Colombia.
