The referee ignored PHOENIX SC's protests and gave Sun Chao Mo a yellow card for diving instead. Sun Chao Mo hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Lilcho Ilchov in the 4thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Rolando Noboa, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 5 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Dadá D Agostino came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilson Seco made in the 7th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Dadá D Agostino. After 7 played minutes PHOENIX SC got a freekick which was hit by Severiano Redondas. Moises Gayoso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ray Clemence having to make a save. In the 16th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ray Clemence saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lilcho Ilchov in the 18th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samai Asmawan in the 20th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peru's Luz Tejedor managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Wilson Seco in the 23 minute of the game. A sloppy throw-in by Wilson Seco in the 30th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. If Julian Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samai Asmawan in the 45th minute of the match. Phoenix Kante kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

51 minutes into the match, PHOENIX SC's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Ray Clemence reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dadá D Agostino kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. The long shot by Luz Tejedor in the 56th minute really tested Ray Clemence's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Wilson Seco made in the 62nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Phoenix Kante however managed to control. Eliseo Mina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 66 minutes had been played when some careless play by PHOENIX SC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. A very nice done corner allowed Alonso Berganza to score against Ray Clemence in PHOENIX SC's goal. 0-1 after 66 minutes. Wilson Seco kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. In the 76th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ray Clemence saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru's Alonso Berganza quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Wilson Seco, made in the 77th minute of the game. Peru's Alonso Berganza managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Wilson Seco in the 79 minute of the game. 80 minutes into the match, PHOENIX SC's goalkeeper Ray Clemence had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Murillo. With a left leg Rolando Noboa saved Peru from getting behind. 91 minutes into the match, PHOENIX SC's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Gallo came free, but Ray Clemence reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Samai Asmawan hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafael Gallo got free with Ray Clemence in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, PHOENIX SC's Ray Clemence got control of the ball when Rafael Gallo tried to sneak it across the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Peru walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
