Arlindo Guedes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. After a defensive mix-up in AF CERRADO's zone, Alberto Tafalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arlindo Guedes came out of the goal and Alberto Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind AF CERRADO's goalkeeper Arlindo Guedes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. AF CERRADO's Arlindo Guedes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 24th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 29 minutes, Dante Lacasa successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When Mexico's Joel Gaona in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye AF CERRADO's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Facundo Cadaval in the 39th minute of play forced AF CERRADO's goalkeeper Arlindo Guedes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arlindo Guedes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 42th minute after AF CERRADO's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joel Gaona in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arlindo Guedes saved AF CERRADO from getting behind. 47 minutes into the match, Lautaro Mancebo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arlindo Guedes. AF CERRADO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lautaro Mancebo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Antônio Carlos Bueno was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. Lautaro Mancebo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arlindo Guedes having to make a save. Dante Lacasa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Antônio Carlos Bueno's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. In the 66th minute Marcos Paulista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. AF CERRADO made a substitution. Thiago Damião replaced Marcos Paulista. AF CERRADO's Arlindo Guedes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 74th minute of play. The supporters of Mexico booed when AF CERRADO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaime Pombal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Murilo Lucas in the 86th minute of play. Arlindo Guedes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 88th minute of the match. Arlindo Guedes made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thiago Damião, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. After 99 minutes Mexico's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jaime Pombal who took care of the corner kick.
