The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 played minutes Erzincan MustafaKemalPaşa got a freekick which was hit by Kubat Acıbadem. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 3rd minute of play forced Erzincan MustafaKemalPaşa's goalkeeper Mete Gazov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 5 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mete Gazov having to interfere. After 15 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Joshua Secada. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Şadi Cihaner in the 16th minute of the match. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Erzincan MustafaKemalPaşa's Samim Özbilir got a free kick in the 29th minute. Tomas Illescas scored 0-1 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mete Gazov, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 43 minutes into the match, Erzincan MustafaKemalPaşa's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Mete Gazov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mete Gazov made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Şadi Cihaner in the 55th minute of play. Mete Gazov made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 56th minute. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. In the 60th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Chicote to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Şadi Cihaner, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. A collision led to Erzincan MustafaKemalPaşa getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Samim Özbilir hit a great ball. In the 69th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mete Gazov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erzincan MustafaKemalPaşa's Mete Gazov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 72nd minute of play. 74 minutes into the match, Patricio Costa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Mete Gazov, 1-2. Mete Gazov came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Mete Gazov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 94 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
