After 19 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Luca Rouco. After having played for 22 minutes, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Tafalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paul Geeraerts in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dante Lacasa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alberto Tafalla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Generoso Beloki read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. In the 34th minute, Curcio Alonso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vodka Stars 1949 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erik Véber, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 38th minute Paul Geeraerts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Curcio Alonso to make the kick off. Generoso Beloki was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 65 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Curcio Alonso came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Vodka Stars 1949 defense, Joel Gaona kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Generoso Beloki. The Vodka Stars 1949 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Generoso Beloki should have stopped the shot. Vodka Stars 1949 made a substitution. Txema Cifuentes replaced Casado Castan. 74 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Curcio Alonso. In the 78th minute of the match Joel Gaona sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Generoso Beloki skillfully saved the ball. Generoso Beloki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Generoso Beloki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 86th minute of play forced Vodka Stars 1949's goalkeeper Generoso Beloki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Generoso Beloki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 89th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Curcio Alonso got free with Dante Lacasa in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Batalla in the 92nd minute of the match. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
