The crowd rose to their feet as Cristian Sancho kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hudson de Carvalho. That made the score 2-0 in the 19 minute of play. Agustín Saelices fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hudson de Carvalho having to interfere. The supporters of Ecuador booed when MZetowe Mastodonty was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amir Hui didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roch Haszczak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Hudson de Carvalho firmly grabbed it by the left post. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Sebastian Ekelund put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastian Ekelund, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Hudson de Carvalho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montes got a free kick in the 68th minute. In the 69th minute, Sebastian Ekelund got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sebastian Ekelund recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 74th minute Sebastian Ekelund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Felix Montes's late challenge caught a MZetowe Mastodonty's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felix Montes helped the player get up and apologised. Felix Montes hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 79th match minute, MZetowe Mastodonty was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Larry Tatum to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Ekelund in the 82nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hudson de Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Ekelund in the 87th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hudson de Carvalho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sebastian Ekelund might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sebastian Ekelund ran back to his position shaking his head. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Ecuador fully deserved thier win.
