The supporters of Jarlabergs IF booed when Paraguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hector Covarrubias didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Jarlabergs IF's Anthon Grönlund got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After 36 played minutes Jarlabergs IF got a freekick which was hit by Andy Spetz. In the 42nd minute, Anthon Grönlund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 47 minutes into the game, Sven-Ove Sandwall was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jarlabergs IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paraguay the free kick. When Hector Covarrubias came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Paraguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hector Covarrubias couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 51st minute, Villiam Nyberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jaime Pardo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Viktor Kilberg made a huge save. Paraguay's attentive Jaime Pardo managed to snatch the ball when Sven-Ove Sandwall made a throw-in in the 68th minute of the game. After 77 minutes of play, Jarlabergs IF's Karl Brogren made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jacobo Nores was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Jarlabergs IF's zone, Hector Covarrubias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Viktor Kilberg came out of the goal and Hector Covarrubias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jaime Pardo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Viktor Kilberg made a huge save. After 84 minutes of play, Jarlabergs IF's Karl Brogren made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jacobo Nores was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 92 minutes, Hector Covarrubias mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paraguay and the Jarlabergs IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 92 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Hector Covarrubias. Paraguay's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Jarlabergs IF had won, even though Paraguay had held more of the ball.
