Carmine Di Rocco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa in the 11th minute of play. After 13 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Alcocer. After 19 minutes, Flavio Galeone mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cimone and the Costa Rica players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Clint Barton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Clint Barton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damian Valdevielso in the 28th minute of play. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Clint Barton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Carmine Di Rocco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Axel Tasis's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Carmine Di Rocco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Puig, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Domenico Tatangelo took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Benito Sanz to make any attempt to save it. Demetrio Pagliarini's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benito Sanz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. Clint Barton who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 41stth minute tested the skills of Benito Sanz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 47 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Ennio Gervasi came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Clint Barton made the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. Ennio Gervasi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Eliseo Noboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carmine Di Rocco having to interfere. Juan Rubio hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Ennio Gervasi scored 5-0 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. During the 62nd minute of the match Aaron Alcocer completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Aaron Alcocer a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clint Barton in the 93rd minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clint Barton in the 94th minute of play. Cimone's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
